Tech Spec: CALUMO-as-a-Service

CALUMO-as-a-Service means you don’t need a server environment to host databases, application servers or web servers. We take care of all of that for you.

CALUMO-as-a-Service uses Enterprise grade technology to run your service. We use Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition to deliver Enterprise Business Intelligence at an affordable price.

The only technology you need to worry about is your PC, tablet or smart phone. CALUMO-as-a-Service works on all of these devices because we use HTML5 technology. HTML5 technology is available on most platforms from PC to Mac to Linux.

The client component of CALUMO is a set of Microsoft Office Add-ins that are installed via a single installer.

The CALUMO Office Client only requires administrator rights during the installation if the pre-requisite software (.NET and VSTO) are not already installed. On operating systems that are capable of User Account Control (UAC), the installer will use UAC to ask for and grant administration access. On operating systems that are not capable of UAC, the user performing the installation will either need to be an administrator of the local machine, or they can be granted elevated rights by using the “Run As Administrator” option. Users will need full read/write access to the installation folder and all sub-folders.
